Product Process Playbook
A powerful tool for identifying the structure, tools, and accountabilities for the many stages of a product process, allowing you to streamline your teams and manage your everyday work.
Have you heard of the double diamond? I am using the basic structure of the double diamond when setting up scalable processes for my product teams. The Figma File is a summary of best practices from building products myself, leading crossfunctional Product Teams and building a Product Operations Team in an Enterprise.
WHY
I designed this PlayBook to address a problem in product management that several of the teams I headed had to deal with. If you want to design products that add value for consumers and users, you must not only choose from a wide range of tools, but it is also often unclear which tool to use when and when you are ready to go on to the next step.
I have seen teams spend little time at all on research or spend too much time on research but never create a product. I am sure you are aware of all of this.
WHAT
This playbook provides an overview of a basic product process as well as a comprehensive collection of methods linked to the distinct stages. This handbook is a condensed version of all I have learned about strong product processes over the course of 12 years in product and product leadership.
THIS PLAYBOOK IS FOR YOU IF...
1. You are the founder of a startup and have no idea where to begin when developing a product or which approaches are best for you.
2. You are a product manager who struggles to get things out the door or to provide value when developing products.
3. You are a product leader who is attempting to standardize your team's product processes and achieve greater structure.
4. You are tired of searching for the best solution for your needs and just want a hands-on guide to help you focus.
WHAT IT IS NOT
It is not a Silver Bullet. I used it as a frame for how my teams were working and we were constantly adapting the framework, the tools and the way we worked with it. Its also not a one-size fits all. Some teams felt comfortable working with it, some teams didn't, so they created their own way of working. I recommend using it as inspiration and to draw your own conclusions.
